Glass Walls

Structo glass walls are designed for separating rooms by keeping them visually spaciuos and full of light.

We have a wide selection of different wall systems to choose from for every taste: single or double glazed, with aluminum frame or wooden frame, with or without separating profiles, etc.

All Structo glass walls minimise disturbing sounds coming from other side of the wall. More soundproof types have been tested in the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (Valtion Teknillinen Tutkimuskeskus).

Our glass walls are compatible with our other systems (portals, doors, wall systems or sliding door systems).

Our aluminum profiles have clip connections and therefore levelling of glass sheets is easier compared to non-clip systems. Levelling is especially important with adjacent glass panels.

For large glass sheets we use a glazing robot. It has a lifting capacity of max 600kg (300kg when lifting arm is fully extended or 200kg when lifting in overhead position). That makes mounting large and heavy glass sheets faster and most importantly much safer.

Glass panels are fixed to the profiles mostly with EPDM seals. By default the colour of the seals is black, but there are also transparent seals available to some wall types.

Adjacent glass panes are joined together with transparent double-sided silicone tape.

Finishing

Possible types of glass are tempered, laminated or tempered-laminated. If there are openings or other cutouts in glass panel, then the glass panel has to be tempered. The surface of the glass can be bright, very bright, mass-tinted, background-painted or matte.

The standard surface finish of aluminum profiles is natural (silver) anodizing but it is also possible to order a painted surface according to the RAL colour catalogue.

Possible coatings for MDF and wood profiles are:

  • painted according to RAL, NCS or Tikkurila colour catalogues or
  • covered with natural or technical veneer, which may be stained and varnished, varnished with tinted varnish or painted.

We are using quarter sliced veneer (radial cut) or flat cut otherwise said plain sliced veneer (tangential cut). Those veneer strips are then joined together to make spliced veneer faces (wide veneer sheets). Our standard method is book match. It’s possible to choose from over 40 different veneer species from Europe, Africa and America.
